This was one of those moments I quickly grabbed my camera to catch a photo of Quin putting his arm around Keena. How sweet!
April 09- Sweet moment
U CAN DO IT!
Chalk Board Paint ....genius!
Here is Keena painting a section of wall in the garage with chalk board paint. She was sooooo excited to have her own chalk board. What a fabulous idea. We just got done organizing the garage to where it is a safe environment for the kids to play. Now they love playing in the garage. I love having ever inch of my house including the garage organized.
On another note: Last night I was putting Keena to bed. I was so ready to have a little quiet time of my own. I wanted to tuck her in and be on my way. Well, as I say quietly on her bed with tired eyes trying to go thru the motions of getting Keena to bed, I just stopped and starred in to her eyes. For a moment I realized my little one just wanted to be heard. Instead of rushing off I continued to just focus on her and listened to all her little girl jabber. In that moment I knew she felt special because I was just listening. She wasn't really making a whole lot of sense. There was a lot of spider man, doctor, and Hulk talk. I didn't get it but I just nodded my head and smiled. There was one moment that I did catch though and it went like this...
Keena:" now if the man doctor doesn't know anything then you need to go to the women doctor"
OK, I do not know where this came from but when she just nonchalantly stated that I began to laugh hysterically.
Moral of this story is STOP AND LISTEN! Sometimes I get so wrapped up in my own head while Keena is talking nonstop because....well she just doesn't stop. She also made the statement last night in the middle of her conversation saying, "I just love to talk" I am going to make a better effort of TRULY listening to her. She loves it and I love when I know she feels loved.
Quins first hair cut... Dec 08
play'in and play'in
There is something about the kids playing with the couch cousins and jumping on the bed that puts a huge smile on my face. It's one of those things that could really go either way as far as letting them do that. They have such a blast! I feel like I'm giving them the freedom to actually live in their own house. Do certain things at home that they can't do anywhere else. I have my moments of wanting the house to just stay clean for a whole 10 minutes....ok longer then that. Home should be fun, a place to bend the order of things. The expressions I get when they jump on the bed or create slides out of the cousins is absolutely priceless. I will cherish these moments while they are my two little monkeys cuz soon enough they'll out grow it.
Here we are at the gym. I hear this sound...like shooting a gun sound. O yes, sure enough as I turn around there is Quin with a "gun" he made out of the blocks shooting at something. I very quickly grabbed my camera a took a picture. I began to crack up. I didn't know wheter to be concerned or to just keep laughing. I could'nt believe it! What two yr. old knows how to do that! Obviously he learned that from the other kids at the gym. So, to me I see the whole toy gun deal a boy thing. Back before we had the horrible video games, it was all about good cops and cowboys. I know these days there are a lot of mixed emotions on play guns and all. Since Quin will not be experiancing "video game" world I see him as my lil' cowboy.
I love and I mean love watching Quin play with the "choo choo" as he puts it. Everything is a "choo choo." Cars, the trains, and tracks. It's my favorite word that he says. He loves Thomas the train, the movie Cars...which is a"choo choo" too. We stared potty training and I got him a Cars little toddler seat to sit on. I ask him if he wants to go potty and he says no. When I gentely inch my way to the seat and he finally sits down, boy he trys to go with all his might. It's just so sweet...ok, sorry maybe this is just a moment a mother could love. I'm going to share anyway. Anyways, he looks at me with this expression of wanting to do a good job for me. He is a boy of service. I believe that is his God given gift, to serve others. Even if it means simply going #2 for you. I love my little man!
Date with Daddy (Jan 09)
Keena seems to be on top of the world when Ham asks her on a date. I believe they went to a basketball game on this particular date. These moments with him will be remembered forever! Another time I just love is on Saturdays. Ham takes her to starbucks in the morning for a chocolate donut, which Keena really looks forward to and hot chocolate. They do a little bible study together and come home. When she gets home she races to find me to let me know what she learned. This is just one of those little things that will impact her life forever. Love it!
Jan 09 they insisted on going to the park
Moments to be treasured
Showing some love!

How cute is that!
Every Wednesday night Papa takes Keena and Porter swimming. Keena really looks forward to that every week! Thank you papa for planning such a special time with your grand kids. They will treasure these moments forever.
We must not forget Nani in all this. She spends quality one on one time with Quin while mom and dad workout together. Thank you Nani for allowing Ham and I to have that time together. We also know that you are very much needed in getting the kids out the door with papa with all their things. We greatly appreciate your help in that. Our kids adore you both more then you can imagine. Thank you so much for being so involved in their lives.
